Our client is a market leading digital B2B publishing, subscriptions and events business based in Bristol who provide creative content, insight and online solutions to their clients.
The Commercial Manager supports the commercial sales operation, with a focus on driving new client conversations and revenue within the Marketing Technology industry.
Reporting into the Head of Sales and Delivery, and working alongside the Account Management team, the Commercial Sales Manager will be positive, results-driven and self-motivated.
The successful candidate will have the ability to be self disciplined, be proficient in proposal writing and have excellent telephone sales skills.
The role will focus on creating positive relationships with new prospects, gaining their trust and buy-in to engage with the commercial and content teams within our clients publishing units.
The solutions, subscriptions and digital services involve selling our clients high quality content marketing opportunities, digital advertising solutions and events, including new digital products.
Role Responsibilities
Delivering budgeted revenue targets for online, content marketing, research and events.
Using Salesforce CRM system to track leads and sales conversions, log client contact, set tasks and generate sales orders
Sourcing and qualifying leads to generate new business opportunities for the team
Fielding and qualifying incoming sales enquiries including inbound leads generated by marketing
Establishing and helping build relationships with prospects and new clients
Using digital, audience and marketing insights to open doors with new prospects and to deliver added value to existing clients
Creating sales proposals in response to client briefs/conversations liaising with the relevant internal teams to ensure that campaigns are effective and can be delivered within budget and time scales before they are sold
Advising on the marketing and sales collateral needed to support new business development activity
Candidate Criteria
Proven successful sales experience(ideally in media sales)
Confident and clear communicator for both verbal and written communication (proposal writing, presentations, meetings and phone sales)
Developing internal and external relationships
Planning and organisation
Team working and collaboration
A good understanding of digital marketing disciplines
Experience within the marketing technology market is desired but not essential
Salary
Our client will offer a competitive salary negotiable dependent on experience – guideline salary £23,000 – £30,000+ including commission, team bonus, personal bonus, laptop, phone, pension, expenses and personal development and progression.
