John Ross Associates are working with national manufacturer who work with composite metals and materials to create precision engineered products and materials for the automotive, aerospace, industrial and energy sectors.

We are currently seeking an experienced Pre-Sales Engineer ideally from a manufacturing / additive manufacturing or composite materials background to work for a market leading, innovative company in the South West.

The ideal candidate will have strong engineering knowledge and experience in dealing with engineers alike and a track record of working on tenders, projects and presales proposals / solutions.

Key role attributes:

·Leading and/or supporting individual quote and bid process (depending on size of opportunity)

·Maintenance of quoting tools and integration with Programme and Financial planning processes

·Communicate with existing and potential customers regarding requirements and formulate project proposal

·Support marketing events where necessary and communicate with potential customers and existing key accounts

·Procurement support for Commercial Programme, specifically at quoting stage to confirm any outsourced costs

·Support the identification of cost-down opportunities in supply chain

·Supporting Head of Business Development through representing him in the office when out on business 

Individual requirements:

·Relevant Engineering qualification to at least degree level

·Able to look at issues in design/process, propose solutions based on in-depth knowledge of engineering processes

·Experience in defining and securing complex engineering project bids to large OEMs and Tier 1s

·Strong communication skills and experience in delivering information to stakeholders, external and internal, across all levels of business 

·Demonstrable financial understanding

·Strong MS Office (particularly Excel) skills; MS Projects experience desirable

·Understanding and appreciation of Additive Manufacturing, Aerospace, Motorsport, Energy sectors would be an advantage

Salary & Application:

Our client will offer a basic salary up to £45,000 per annum – flexible for outstanding applicants in addition to phone, laptop and expenses. You will need to have a full UK licence and transport.
